Judgments of the Federal Court are published from 1977 to the present and updated daily. Judgments are searchable by keyword and in full-text. Judgments of tribunals administered by the Court and the Supreme Court of Norfolk Island are also published here.

Federal Law Search available via the Commonwealth Courts Portal, provides selected information on cases filed in the: Federal Court of Australia; General Federal Law jurisdiction of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. The Federal Court of Australia was created by the Federal Court of Australia Act 1976 and began to exercise its jurisdiction on 1 February 1977. The Court is a superior court of record and a court of law and equity. It sits in all capital cities and elsewhere in Australia from time to time.

The Commonwealth Courts Portal is a joint initiative of the Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia which provides web-based access to information about cases before these courts.

In cases of high media interest, we endeavour to publish judgments within 1 hour of being delivered by the Court. If you cannot find a judgment, check Federal Law Search ; it will tell you the status of the matter before the Court, including whether a judgment has been delivered.

Court listings for the next day of business are published here. If the hearing is to be live streamed, the link to the live stream will be provided. The lists are updated at approximately 4.30pm.
