A medical transport jet with six people on board plummeted to the ground near the Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia Friday night, bursting into flames that spread to homes and cars in a heavily trafficked area and killing everyone on board the plane and at least one person on the ground.

The Learjet, carrying a pediatric patient and five others, crashed on Friday, killing all on board. On the ground, one person was killed and at least 19 others were injured, officials said.

A small medical jet carrying six people crashed in a Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood Friday evening, officials said, causing an explosion and setting several homes ablaze. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed all six people aboard  — all of whom were Mexican citizens — were killed.
