Not only is Reese Witherspoon getting ready to return to play her iconic character Elle Woods in the sequel Legally Blonde 3 , but she’s also working on producing a prequel Legally Blonde series that will take the character all the way back to high school.

Fans who have waited seven years for "Legally Blonde 3" will have to keep waiting as the franchise has shifted focus to the TV prequel, "Elle."

Reese Witherspoon told Jimmy Fallon Friday night that the planned "Legally Blonde" prequel at Amazon Prime Video is moving ahead nicely, and the actress and producer is currently in the process of reviewing audition tapes for the role of a young Elle Woods.
