The 32nd overall mission of Blue Origin's New Shepard suborbital vehicle, known as NS-32, is set to lift off on Saturday (May 31) from the company's Launch Site One in West Texas. The mission marks the 12th human flight for the New Shepard program.

However, NASA, with the backing of key congressional leaders, has held an iron grip on having its own heavy-lift launcher and crew capsule to ferry astronauts between Earth and destinations beyond low-Earth orbit. Now, these vehicles —the Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft—may be canceled if Congress agrees with Trump's proposed NASA budget.

Six more people are preparing to fly on a Blue Origin rocket to the edge of space, and Jeff Bezos' spaceflight company is providing a livestream.
