Doctors in Denver are cautioning the public about a painful mix-up that has led to an increase in emergency room visits. Patients are mistakenly using lash or nail glue instead of eye drops, a trend that has been highlighted by a viral TikTok video shared over 41,000 times.

She said she was “half asleep” and needed to put her antibiotic eyedrops in, but she accidentally grabbed KISS nail glue. The woman posted a video from her hospital bed, showing a tube rinsing out her eye.

According to Dr. Richard Davidson, professor of ophthalmology at UCHealth, these types of injuries are hard to track, but it is a fairly common problem. He spoke with FOX31's Rachel Saurer about the ongoing trend.
