The New York Jets remain in a rut under owner Woody Johnson. The only way out is to get lucky with their next head coaching search and uncover a true franchise quarterback.
Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, the Jets have put in an interview request for Spagnuolo and per Dianna Russini of TheAthletic.com, the Raiders have also put in an interview request for their AFC West-rival’s DC.
Aaron Rodgers first walked through the doors of the New York Jets’ facility nearly two years ago hailed as a potential savior for a frustrated franchise.
Because of these failures, plus an early elimination from the playoffs, the 2025 NFL draft order has been on the minds of many. With the conclusion of the season following a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins (8-9), here is the final order for the upcoming draft, including the Jets position:
Denver's win eliminates Miami from playoff race, while the Jets head into an offseason that will see a lot of change.
The New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 32-20 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Sunday. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes, including his 500th, in what could be his final NFL game.
The Dolphins show little spark in losing to the Jets to finish 8-9 and out of the playoffs. They actually were eliminated when the Broncos beat the Chiefs.
The Jets put in a request Wednesday to interview Spagnuolo for their head coach vacancy, as first reported by NFL Network. He is the only coach in NFL history to win four Super Bowl rings as a coordinator on either side of the ball (three with the Chiefs, one with the Giants).
The Jets have completed an interview with Alec Halaby for their general manager position.
The three-part series will debut later this month and feature several former players, along with sports journalists.
