Punxsutawney Phil isn't the only weather-predicting groundhog that enjoys a day of public spotlight. In Ohio, Buckeye Chuck has made his call.

It could soon be time to put away your winter garb because Buckeye Chuck, Ohio’s very own groundhog, did not see his shadow. The famed Marion resident made an appearance on Sunday morning at about 7:40a.

The tradition has been ongoing in the country since 1887 when the residents of Punxsutawney watched Phil, the weather-forecasting groundhog, venture out of Gobbler's Knob. As part of Ohio's tradition, Buckeye Chuck visits WMRN AM radio station every Feb. 2. This year, the event will be held at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
