One of three eaglets recently born to the famed bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, has died, according to a conservation group.

Under the watch of a 24/7 livestreamed camera mounted above Jackie and Shadow’s nest in Southern California’s San Bernardino mountains, the first two eggs hatched on March 3 and March 4. The third egg hung in there a little longer, hatching on March 8.

Internet faves Jackie and Shadow, whose nest in Southern California can be watched via webcam, have welcomed the third eaglet of their brood.

One of three eaglets born to California’s famous bald eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow, has died, according to Friends of Big Bear Valley. The wildlife group reported that the chick passed away following a heavy snowstorm that dumped more than two feet of powder in the area.

The Friends of Big Bear Valley confirmed Saturday, March 15, 2025, that the one of the three chicks in the nest did not make it through a heavy snow storm.
