SALT LAKE CITY — Police are responding to a situation involving a barricaded man in the area of 400 South 1200 West Friday morning. Police said he may be armed. The Salt Lake Police Department said its SWAT team was on the scene.

Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) officers were disciplined for using a utility knife on a deceased homeless man’s body. Six of the seven SLCPD employees who faced disciplinary action for the August 2024 incident have since returned to work.
