Trader Joe's is limiting the number of eggs customers can buy because of a shortage caused by the avian flu. "Due to ongoing issues with the supply of eggs, we are currently limiting egg purchases to one dozen per customer, per day, in all Trader Joe's stores across the country," a grocery chain spokesperson told CNN.

Trader Joe’s is capping purchases to one carton per customer each day, the Monrovia, California-based chain confirmed. That limit applies to all Trader Joe’s locations across the country.

Some grocery chains are leaving the decision up to individual stores or regions, while others have implemented restrictions at all stores. Trader Joe’s is allowing customers to buy one dozen eggs per day, while Walmart is limiting purchases of bulk 60-count egg packages to two per purchase.
