Raymond tallied two assists Wednesday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 22-year-old stood out all night long, and he earned the game's third star for the effort. He even threw down one his somewhat patented shot-fake to backdoor passes to Joel Eriksson Ek for the game-tying goal in the third.

Lucas Raymond’s strong play with the Detroit Red Wings carried over for Sweden Wednesday in the 4 Nations Face-Off opener. Raymond picked up a pair of assists, but Canada defeated Sweden 4-3 on Mitch Marner’s goal at 6:06 of overtime at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Larkin (Team USA) and Raymond (Sweden) are the only two Wings competing in the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off beginning Wednesday in Montreal.

Seider still has room to grow. The Red Wings' number-one defender is only 23 years old, so he is still working towards his prime hockey years. To that end, he's only played 301 NHL games. He is proficient at both ends of the ice and is among the most utilized players in the NHL.

Some may view the break in the NHL season for the 4 Nations Face-Off as nothing more than a money grab, but don’t count Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond among that group.
