A hundred Palestinian prisoners released by Israel on Saturday in the West Bank arrived in several buses to a Ramallah centre set up to receive them, where hundreds of people and family members were waiting to carry them on their shoulders as they got out of the vehicles.

Steve Witkoff, the U.S.’s new Middle East envoy, has joined Israelis in Tel Aviv who have gathered to watch the hostage releases in what has become known as “Hostage Square,” according to images broadcast on Israeli television.
