BMW has been hyping its Neue Klasse family of electric vehicles for a while, but the first will finally be revealed this year, a compact crossover forming part of the X3 family. It is likely to be badged as the iX3, which is the name BMW used on a previous-generation electric X3 sold outside the U.S.

The iX3 electric SUV is set to go into production later this year, while the electric 3-Series will follow in 2026. BMW has not yet officially confirmed the sedan’s name, but speculation suggests it could revive the “i3” moniker in line with the brand’s electric naming conventions.
