Meryl Streep had to take matters into her own hands when evacuating from the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this month, according to her nephew.

The three-time Oscar winner was trapped on her property but managed to get to safety after creating an escape route with wire cutters, her nephew said.

Journalist Abe Streep also spoke to Martin Short and Haley Joel Osment about they were affected by the blazes.

Proceeds raised by the FireAid benefit concert will help those affected by the wildfires by raising money "for rebuilding communities devastated by wildfires and supporting efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California," according to a press release.

Within days of the devastating Los Angeles-area fires breaking out, a benefit concert was in the works. It’s already raised millions for relief efforts.

The FireAid benefit concerts will offer aid to LA after wildfires devastated the city. The lineup includes stars like Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga.
