Ben & Jerry’s is accusing its parent company Unilever of breaching its merger agreement by ousting the ice cream company’s CEO for the brand’s repeated public comments on progressive issues, removing its chief executive without the board’s approval.

Ben and Jerry’s accused parent company Unilever Plc of firing its chief executive officer, claiming he was ousted because of disputes over the ice cream brand’s social mission.

Ben & Jerry’s has accused Unilever of attempting to oust its chief executive in an effort to “silence” the ice cream maker’s political activism and criticism of Donald Trump.
